Friday, May 24, is your last opportunity to sign up for the Summer Fundraising Luncheon, featuring a keynote speech from Judge Sara Smolenski. Together, we’ll celebrate the work of some of West Michigan’s boldest anti-hunger advocates and forge ahead toward a future free from hunger.
The Summer Fundraising Luncheon will be held from 12-1:15 p.m. at The Goei Center in Grand Rapids.
The cost is $25 per seat — enough to send 100 meals to people in need for every person who attends.

To be honest, we were a little nervous about May 18. Early in the week, the weather forecast showed that most dreaded of symbols: the thundercloud. But when we arrived at the Outdoor Discovery Center on Saturday morning, our fears dissolved. The sky was a cloudless blue, and the temperature was resting comfortably in the low 70s.
All that was just backdrop for an event that drew around 70 people and, it seemed at the time, almost as many dogs. From local radio stations to the hikers themselves, West Michigan responded with generosity and enthusiasm to this first-time fundraiser.
Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank and Harbor Humane Society want to thank everyone who participated — hikers, volunteers, and our sponsors, Steelcase, Family Fare, ARC, Big Lots, Blue Sky Sessions, and Jack Tabler, for providing food, promotional support, and music. You made this happen!
